Enseignement : Intelligence Artificielle et Cybersécurité

La personne recrutée bénéficiera d'un environnement pédagogique européen au coeur d'une Chaire d'Excellence franco-allemande en IA et cybersécurité, co-financée par l'Université franco-allemande (UFA), l’INSA Lyon et l’Université de Passau (Bavière).

Rayonnement européen et mobilité. Dans le cadre l’accord multi-latéral établissant la chaire, elle effectuera une partie de ses missions d'enseignement (environ 40h eqTD par an) à l’Université de Passau. Cette université jouit d'une réputation internationale de premier plan. En outre, la personne recrutée y assurera l’animation d'un séminaire de niveau Master 2 spécialisé en IA et cybersécurité. Une mobilité régulière (1 à 2 fois par trimestre) est au coeur de la stratégie de rayonnement de la chaire et sera pleinement accompagnée logistiquement. La personne recrutée pourra aussi être impliquée dans la direction et l’animation de la chaire et la mise en oeuvre de nouveaux projets d’envergure (comme Erasmus+).

Missions au sein du Département IF (INSA Lyon). Pour le reste de son service, la personne recrutée interviendra dans les trois années de spécialité du département Informatique (formation initiale et apprentissage). Les enseignements porteront principalement sur l’intelligence artificielle et l’analyse de données, la cybersécurité et les systèmes distribués, ainsi que dans l’encadrement de projets d’innovation. Elle sera également chargée du suivi des projets de recherche des étudiants du PhD-Track niveau M1 et M2.

Sauf exceptions (cours niveau L3 à Lyon), les cours seront tous dispensés en anglais. Une fluidité en anglais comme en français est donc indispensable. Une connaissance de l’allemand est un plus.

The successful candidate will benefit from an exceptional teaching environment at the heart of a French-German Chair of Excellence in AI and Cybersecurity, co-funded by the Franco-German University (UFA), INSA Lyon, and the University of Passau (Bavaria).

European Reach and Mobility. As part of the multilateral agreement establishing the Chair, the candidate will carry out a portion of their teaching duties (approximately 40 hours eqTD per year) at the University of Passau, an institution with a leading international reputation. Furthermore, the successful candidate will lead a specialized Master 2 seminar in AI and Cybersecurity there. Regular mobility (1 to 2 visits per quarter) is central to the Chair's outreach strategy and will receive full logistical support. The Associate Professor (Maître de Conférences) may also be involved in the management and coordination of the Chair, as well as the implementation of major new projects (such as Erasmus+).

Missions within the Computer Science Department (IF – INSA Lyon). For the remainder of their service, the faculty member will teach across the three years of the Computer Science specialty (both initial training and apprenticeship tracks). Teaching will focus primarily on Artificial Intelligence and Data Analysis, Cybersecurity, and Distributed Systems, as well as the supervision of innovation projects. The candidate will also be responsible for mentoring research projects for PhD-Track students at the M1 and M2 (Master’s) levels.

Courses will be taught primarily in English. Fluency in both English and French is therefore essential. Knowledge of German is an advantage.

Ce poste s’intègre dans la stratégie de développement du laboratoire d’accueil, le LIRIS, pour promouvoir des actions de recherche à l’échelle européenne ou pour assoir sa visibilité sur la thématique générale de l’IA et de la cybersécurité. Deux équipes du LIRIS sont ciblées pour ce poste, DRIM (Distribution, Recherche d'Information et Mobilité) et SOC (Service Oriented Computing). Elles sont reconnues pour leurs expertises dans les domaines de la recherche d’information (e.g., systèmes de recommandation, RI sémantique, RI documentaire, NLP), des systèmes distribués résilients et préservant la vie privée (e.g., blockchains, systèmes de réputation, gestion sécurisée et résiliente de données massives) et de la sécurité des services et des services de sécurité. Plus récemment, elles se sont étendues à des problématiques autour de l’IA de confiance (e.g., IA distribuée/décentralisée, IA robuste et préservant la vie privée, équité, etc).

Ce poste est rattaché à une chaire d’excellence franco-allemande en IA et cybersécurité labellisée et financée par l’Université franco-allemande (UFA) ainsi que par les deux établissements porteurs de la chaire, l’INSA Lyon et l’Université de Passau (Bavière, Allemagne). Cette chaire est également étroitement liée au centre international de recherche et d’innovation IRIXYS (https://www.irixys.org) collaborant avec des partenaires d’excellence en Allemagne (Passau) et en Italie (Milan), qui associe ; pour Passau, les chaires de systèmes d'information distribués (Pr. H. Kosch), de science des données (Pr. Michael Granitzer) et de cybersécurité (Prs. Posegga et Katzenbeisser) ; pour les universités de Milan et de Milan-Bicocca, le laboratoire SESAR (Pr. Damiani et Pr. Gabriele Gianini).

La personne recrutée viendra renforcer l’un des axes d’une de ces deux équipes DRIM et SOC. Elle bénéficiera de l’environnement international unique d’IRIXYS et de la chaire d’excellence pour mener ses recherches. Pour développer son autonomie, sa prise de responsabilité et sa visibilité, la personne recrutée sera vivement encouragée à préparer une soumission JCJC de l’ANR rapidement après son recrutement et à s’intégrer dans la dynamique de l’INSA de Lyon via des projets de recherche privés et publics.

Profile: AI and Cybersecurity

This position is part of the development strategy of the host laboratory, LIRIS, aimed at promoting research initiatives at the European level and strengthening its visibility in the general field of AI and Cybersecurity. Two LIRIS teams are targeted for this position: DRIM (Distribution, Information Retrieval, and Mobility) and SOC (Service-Oriented Computing). They are renowned for their expertise in information retrieval (e.g., recommendation systems, semantic IR, document IR, NLP), resilient and privacy-preserving distributed systems (e.g., blockchains, reputation systems, secure and resilient big data management), and the security of services and security services. More recently, their scope has expanded to include topics in Trustworthy AI (e.g., distributed/decentralized AI, robust and privacy-preserving AI, fairness, etc.).

The position is attached to a French-German Chair of Excellence in AI and Cybersecurity, labeled and funded by the Franco-German University (UFA) as well as the two host institutions, INSA Lyon and the University of Passau (Bavaria, Germany). This chair is also closely linked to the international research and innovation center IRIXYS(https://www.irixys.org), which collaborates with partners of excellence in Germany (Passau) and Italy (Milan). Specifically, IRIXYS brings together: for Passau, the Chairs of Distributed Information Systems (Prof. H. Kosch), Data Science (Prof. Michael Granitzer), and Cybersecurity (Profs. Posegga and Katzenbeisser); and for the Universities of Milan and Milan-Bicocca, the SESAR laboratory (Prof. Damiani and Prof. Gabriele Gianini).

The successful candidate will strengthen one of the research axes within either the DRIM or SOC teams. They will benefit from the unique international environment of IRIXYS and the Chair of Excellence to conduct their research. To develop their autonomy, professional responsibility, and visibility, the candidate will be strongly encouraged to prepare an ANR JCJC (Young Researchers) grant proposal shortly after recruitment and to engage with the research dynamics of INSA Lyon through both private and public research projects.
